Drivers are reminded that as of February 1, 2010, the one-month education and awareness period associated to British Columbia’s new Distracted Driving legislation has expired.
Police officers are now authorized to issue Provincial Violation tickets for offences relating to use of any handheld cellphone or electronic device while operating a motor vehicle in BC.
Fines are $167.
